Margaret Wilder

Margaret "Mardee" Wilder, 86, Of Bishop Commons in Oswego, died Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at her home. Mardee grew up in Livermore, Iowa, and was the last surviving daughter of 15 children born to the late Henry and Agnes Monson. She resided at 424 Skiff Drive in Mattydale for 56 years before moving to Oswego in 2016.

Mardee entered the US Navy as a WAVE serving in Charleston, SC, where she met her husband Bill who was stationed there as well. The two married on base with Mardee being given away by her Commanding Officer. After raising her children, she returned to the work force as a secretary for Utilities Mutual Insurance Company for several years before retiring in 1994. Mardee enjoyed summering at the family camp on Sandy Pond since the 1960's and maintained a winter home in Palm Harbor, Florida for several years. She was a longtime communicant of St. Margaret's Church where she served as Past President of their Socialites Group and a member of their Altar Rosary Society.

Mardee was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, William "Bill" Wilder, in 2003.

Surviving are their three children: Amy (Tom) Daino of Oswego, William J. (Linda) Wilder of Oswego, and Timothy J. (Michele) Wilder of Cicero; eight grandchildren: James, David, Devynn, Justin, Brian, Whitney, William and Zachary; and by several nieces and nephews.

Contributions in Mardee's memory may be made to St. Margaret's Church, 203 Roxboro Road, Mattydale, NY 13211 or to Oswego County Hospice, 70 Bonner Street, Oswego, NY 13126.

Friends may call on Friday from 4 - 7 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. Prayer Services will begin on Saturday, 9:30 am at the funeral home followed by a 10 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Margaret's Church.
