William C. Fraser

William "Bill" C. Fraser, 89, of Mattydale, passed away Wednesday, May 29^th, at home. Bill was born and raised in Port Leyden, NY where he graduated from Port Leyden High School. He was the son of the late Clayton and Mary (Mangan) Fraser.

Bill served in the US Navy from 1954-1959. He retired after working for 30 years as a mason at Driscoll Masonry in Skaneateles Falls. Bill was an avid sports fan, especially of Syracuse University sports and of the NY Yankees. He was a communicant of St. Margaret's Church in Mattydale.  

Bill was predeceased by his wife of 56 years, the former Mary Ann (Burmingham) in 2019 and by a son-in-law, Steven Zehr in 2022.

He is survived by his three daughters: Lucinda Galtieri of Cicero, Latisha (Tom) Rourke of Fayetteville, and Linanne Zehr of Cicero; grandchildren: Jason (Paige) Galtieri, Jennifer (Ryan) Galtieri, Conlan Rourke, Joshua Zehr, and Julia Zehr; and great grandchildren: Brooklynn Galtieri, Rya Stupp, Bodhi Helms, and Layla Helms.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Bill’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 6725 Lyons St., Box 7, East Syracuse, NY 13057.

Friends may call on Tuesday from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. A Prayer service will begin on Wednesday, 9:30 am, at the funeral home followed by a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial at St. Margaret's Church, 200 Roxboro Rd., Mattydale.
